The jury has spoken, and found Snuggles guilty of reverse discrimination. So says Jeffry Scott of the AJC:

A federal jury on Thursday found in favor of some of the plaintiffs in the long-running DeKalb County discrimination case, awarding damages of $174,000 to at least two of the former parks department workers who filed suit six years ago.

On the losing side were former DeKalb CEO Vernon Jones and his one-time executive assistant, Richard Stogner.

The jury came in Thursday afternoon; Jones, who is running for Congress in the 4th District, was silent and stony-faced as the verdict was read.

No word yet on whether this verdict will help or hurt Jones in his primary against Captain Capsize Hank Johnson. But I’m sure the DeKalb County segment of the Georgia Gang may run long this week.

Since it’s a bi-partisan love fest on Georgia Gang today, the best parts are the seriously dopey Vernon Jones ads running between segments. They’re so, uh, bad. Ugly stock footage of 40-something ladies with laptops and Iowa (WTF?) cornfields. The clueless-political-ad production business is the only thing flourishing in this state about right now.

Just a few notes:

1.) Rand Knight’s a lot of things. “Interesting” ain’t one of ‘em. (Spoke to him myself Friday.) Sugg’s right; nothing has changed in Georgia. Dems still can’t find, let alone run, any compelling candidates.

2.) Beautiful, expensive roundtable on the GG set. Too bad it’s littered with tacky plastic cups. Bad visual.

3.) Strip clubs full of “nekkid” people in Clarkston as a closer? Why bury the lede!

4.) Good reminder at end that candidates who don’t show up for debates tend to lose elections. Hint, hint Lewis campaign.

Pointless set design flourishes distracted me for most of today’s show. The camera shot on guest and PP pal, Jim Galloway at Political Insider, showed a glass vase filled with rocks over Jim’s shoulder. I kept wondering if those belonged in Phil Kent’s head.

The Geogia Gang today universally agreed that people say bad stuff on the Internets. And people have been saying particularly icky-mean things about the Gena & Mike GDOT romance on the AJC blogs. And that, of course, people shouldn’t be allowed to say bad things, or have forums such as the AJC blogs to say stuff about the private live of public figures because, well, it’s just darn wrong to people who, like, print stuff on paper.

What it should be is that anyone who reads or imposes stature on AJC blog comments should not be entrusted with positions of broadcast media leadership.

Whether people should or should not “say things” on blogs, the reality is that more than one Georgia Gang geezer is likely feeling he/she dodged a communications bullet. Imagine if there had been an Interwebs when some of them were young & stupid.

1.) You believe that Phil Kent and Jeff Dickerson are so chronically devoid of any interesting statements they could be replaced by any random third grader. Even one from a Georgia public school.

Today’s show was delightfully all about Georgia, whereby all parties agreed that Georgia government, at any level anywhere, is a loony, laughable failure.
