1) Georgia doesn’t have any teacher’s unions to sneak this by. The GAE, the closest thing here to the NEA (and their local affiliate), has no where near the clout in its present form at the political level to even provide a speed bump.

I quit reading here. This is the typical uninformed rant that those who have no idea how a public school operates throws up anytime the issue of education is addressed.

Public schools have many, many problems. I in no way believe that “more money” is the solution. That said, those who actually want to discuss solutions from a Republican perspective might want to learn a little about the actual facts of the situtuation instead of producing a screed of things they just “believe” to be true.

I get the same headache reading her stuff as I did Spacey’s, so it makes me wonder.

Gas taxes are the closest thing we have right now to user fees. The cost of building roads, and the number of new roads needed, have gone up quite a bit over the last couple of decades, but the gas taxes have not.

I support an increase. I would like a condition added, however, that the part of the motor fuel tax currently being diverted to the general fund be returned to GDOT.

Our party has had enough of “leaders” who choose their path to success as one who panders to the lowest common denominators. An effort to stir up gun lovers on the pretense that someone is trying to take away our rights is disingenuous, intellectually void, and lacks any solution to real, actual issues.

I want our future leaders to be able to solve real problems. In order to do so, they must be able to first recognize real problems, and then speak to the public about them, rather than pandering to “the base”.

A man that wants to use military force to shorten gas lines, or decides to tell his constituents that their rights are in danger if we don’t rearrange more gun carry deck chairs, lacks the judgment I expect from our next governor.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

My state rep. couldn’t come to any eggs & issues breakfast & tell me that the poblem is the Gov. or the opposit party. Then my local BOE or BOC member couldn’t blame it on the State in the very same meeting!
