Don’t be surprised to see Chip Rogers run for Lieutenant Governor.

Cagle: OK For Senate To Vote On Sunday Sales
May 7th, 2008 · 6 Comments
Lt. Governor Casey Cagle now says that he’s in favor of letting the Senate vote on permitting local municipalities to make their own decision on Sunday sales, according to the AJC.
“As a Georgian with strong religious beliefs, I oppose Sunday sales of alcohol for individual religious reasons,” Cagle wrote. “However, I recognize we live in […]

Lt. Governor Casey Cagle is off to Brazil next week, seeking to expand trade opportunities for Georgia, the Atlanta Business Chronicle is reporting.
The trip is a fact-finding mission focused on courting business ties with Brazil’s burgeoning economy, particularly ethanol companies, and continuing on-going dialogue with the country’s political leaders. A week-long series of meetings is […]

Hilarious

Wish I could have been here.
“I don’t believe name-calling in any fashion has a place,” Perdue said as Richardson and Cagle stood awkwardly on opposite sides of him, acting as if they’d rather be almost anywhere else.
“It has a certain disrespectful tone. Even when we disagree passionately over issues, we can certainly respect one another […]

Its a (tax) washout
April 5th, 2008 · 5 Comments
According toJasonPye.com:
[11:58pm] SR 845 did not receive the required majority to pass a constitutional amendment in the Senate
So no tax cut this year, but to tax increase either.

I don’t think he cares
April 3rd, 2008 · 7 Comments
House leaders are blaming Casey Cagle for thwarting tax relief.
Last I checked, he isn’t up for re-election until 2010 and the House guys are up, well, this year.
I don’t think Cagle much cares about the House throwing blame at him.

Must Read of the Day

Is this one. Casey Cagle has really put himself in a difficult position on the tax issue. We’ll see what his plan is.
But let me tell you this — I just don’t buy the idea that he’s going to run for Governor in 2010. I really don’t. That’s not to say […]

And Lite Gov. Weighs In
March 13th, 2008 · 11 Comments
I think Casey and Sonny are tag-teaming on the Glenn GREAT Plan.
From his office comes this statement:
“The House has passed a plan that needlessly delays tax relief for over a year, and doesn’t provide the full amount of relief for two years. Georgia workers are at risk of losing their jobs right now due […]

No tax cuts now
March 11th, 2008 · 5 Comments
No money for tax cuts it would seem.
Gov. Sonny Perdue said Monday the state’s flagging economy is making it necessary to cut millions of dollars from the budget.Perdue said months of sluggish tax collections mean the state may not bring in enough money to meet its budget for the current fiscal year. Instead of dipping […]

The event was hosted by Gov. Perdue and Lt. Gov Cagle.
Dozens of Republicans crowded the sunny hotel atrium to retrieve name tags that cost $1,000 a person for the main reception and $2,300 for a VIP event in an upstairs meeting room.
McCain said in an interview that money and support both are well within in […]

Presense with a Purpose
February 16th, 2008 · No Comments
Sad:
The $30,000 in remaining assets of the organization have been frozen since November. Cagle and the charity’s founder, Katherine Conn, are locked in a he-said, she-said battle over who owns the name of the charity, Presence With A Purpose, amid allegations of mismanagement.
Cagle’s staff members said overhead for the organization was nearly 90 percent […]

And let’s not forget Raybon Anderson.
January 31st, 2008 · 1 Comment
I can’t find Tom Barton’s column online, but here’s an excerpt:
One of those votes [for Abraham] came from Raybon Anderson. …
Richardson was steamed. But he’s the kind of loser (sore) who doesn’t just get mad. He tries to get even.
He told the Atlanta Press Club this month that Anderson and DOT board chairman Mike Evans, […]

The Speaker and Lt. Governor have failed to call an election for the DOT Board this week. The Lieutenant Governor was pushing for it to get it out of the way. The Speaker was pushing for a cultural revolution on the DOT Board to punish the Board for failing to install a sock […]

Will they travel in separate cars? [UPDATE]
January 8th, 2008 · 3 Comments
Sonny, Casey, and Glenn are heading on the road together. This has all the makings of a sequel to Boys on the Side.
[UPDATE:] I hear Casey is trying to get his own plane. Hahahaha. We can laugh though, but considering the chain of constitutional succession, he and Sonny should, in fact, […]
