Why am I Luke? Didn’t he save the galaxy and crap? I’ve got no intention of ever saving your asses.

Does Clayton know about this thread?

Doug Deal July 6, 2009 at 1:00 pm

I think it is because instead of being content as just another GOP moiture farmer, you have bigger and better dreams fo fighting for the liberty caucus rebellion.

Jason Shepherd July 6, 2009 at 11:20 am

Clayton? Who’s Clayton? We don’t know no Clayton. Remember Farris, we know where you live. Don’t destroy the thread of dreams!

rugby July 6, 2009 at 12:25 pm

Farris is a rat bastard who has destroyed many threads that dared to dream.

Jason Shepherd July 6, 2009 at 12:42 pm

Farris does not have any fun and doesn’t want anyone else to have fun too. When Farris is 70, he will be yelling at the kids to get out of his yard!

Icarus July 6, 2009 at 12:49 pm

When he’s 70?

How about last Tuesday?

rugby July 6, 2009 at 12:50 pm

My thoughts exactly Ic.

Chris July 6, 2009 at 1:22 pm

I don’t see how any of you can have fun when a muslim child molester has illegally been sworn in as President and is violating the Constitution like it was a Clinton Intern. Wake up people and think of the children!!!!!

Jason Shepherd July 6, 2009 at 1:24 pm

Obama is violating Clinton Interns?

Jason Shepherd July 6, 2009 at 11:41 am

my u is missing — i answered the puzzle a few posts back…

Jason Shepherd July 6, 2009 at 1:38 pm

No you didn’t.

V?

Icarus July 6, 2009 at 2:11 pm

Your U?

Try again.

I own the lesser used vowels of “U” and “sometimes Y”

drjay July 6, 2009 at 2:27 pm

my apology for usurping your vowel is below–it really is below shep–i am making nothing up!!!

Anonymole July 6, 2009 at 1:50 pm

Sorry, didn’t see this.

Thank God you answered it correctly, Troy Davis’ folks were preparing to rally for the hangman.

Jason Shepherd July 6, 2009 at 1:58 pm

I think Dr. Jay is making that up. Also, the answer does not make any sense so I dispute it.

drjay July 6, 2009 at 2:26 pm

ok yes, you swooped down and dropped the u, after my failed attempt to find an i in the puzzle–my sincerest apologies

Jason Shepherd July 7, 2009 at 7:26 pm

okay, we’re stalled on comment 252. Anyone have any other ideas?

Doug Deal July 7, 2009 at 7:28 pm

Who can name all 57 states?

Kellie July 7, 2009 at 7:32 pm

I’ll start…
Alabamastan
Alaskastan

Doug Deal July 7, 2009 at 7:36 pm

West Carolinabad
East Dakota

Dash Riptide July 7, 2009 at 7:39 pm

Shock
Disbelief
Euphoria

Kellie July 7, 2009 at 7:43 pm

Dash
I’ve never heard of those. ;-)

Doug – check your email.

Doug Deal July 7, 2009 at 8:10 pm

If it is about what I think it is, the answer is YES YES and YES.

Dash Riptide July 7, 2009 at 9:02 pm

Shock
Disbelief
Euphoria

I’ve never heard of those.

I’m guessing you’ve never been to Amsterdam.

Kellie July 8, 2009 at 5:13 am

No I haven’t, so I won’t ask. ;-)

Jason Shepherd July 8, 2009 at 7:59 am

I have and I can honestly say I have been in the first two states in Amsterdam. I don’t want to know about Dash’s experience with the third state.

Dash Riptide July 8, 2009 at 9:56 am

I plead a fifth.

Doug Deal July 8, 2009 at 11:48 am

Hans…. Gruber…. bring on the fluggeecheimen!

Jason Shepherd July 13, 2009 at 9:57 pm

Also, says I get a free t-shirt with the flyer.

Doug Deal July 13, 2009 at 10:01 pm

It’s interesting that Hans Gruber was also the bad guy in Die Hard.

Jason Shepherd July 13, 2009 at 10:05 pm

Never thought about that.

Romegaguy July 7, 2009 at 9:17 pm

What about theme songs for posters? For Icarus, I suggest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkyAfXVpVrM

Icarus July 7, 2009 at 10:08 pm

Doug tried to give me a country theme song a while back. It was a little to fitting, but country music makes me suicidal.

Doug Deal July 7, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Jason Shepherd July 7, 2009 at 9:31 pm

What’s my theme song, Rome?

Doug Deal July 7, 2009 at 9:46 pm

Shep, I thought this was your theme.

Romegaguy July 7, 2009 at 9:50 pm
Doug Deal July 7, 2009 at 9:53 pm

I thought that was Brian Laurens’s

Jason Shepherd July 7, 2009 at 11:37 pm

Agreed, much more Brian Laurens. I’ll stick with Doug’s suggestion.

Jason Shepherd July 7, 2009 at 11:36 pm

I’ll accept that.

Doug Deal July 7, 2009 at 10:04 pm
Romegaguy July 7, 2009 at 10:14 pm

How quickly people forget the work that awaits us.

Doug Deal July 13, 2009 at 8:42 pm

I agree rug bug.

Icarus July 13, 2009 at 8:44 pm

I haven’t forgotten. I’m just being held hostage by my want of a continued paycheck.

rugby July 13, 2009 at 8:47 pm

But you are awesome. Icarus is awesome.

Icarus July 13, 2009 at 8:52 pm

You know what Rugby, you’re right.

I should probably put that on the front page.

rugby July 13, 2009 at 9:02 pm

Not until Cobb gets one.

rugby July 13, 2009 at 9:02 pm

A front page poster that is.

rugby July 13, 2009 at 9:03 pm

Of course the real question is when will we get one in Butts?

Doug Deal July 13, 2009 at 9:18 pm

You live in butts?!!

My wife works for your D.A.

Jason Shepherd July 13, 2009 at 8:58 pm

Come on Icky, be like me. Who needs a paying job anyway!?

Doug Deal July 13, 2009 at 9:19 pm

Your traffic court warrior job is not a paying job?

my wife also said she got something from you that wasn’t a furlow, for once.

Jason Shepherd July 13, 2009 at 9:48 pm

It’s not a paid gig. First it was for college credit and now that I have completed the required hours I am there completely as a volunteer. It’s been 4 1/2 months and I have had no luck in my job search. Great economy!

Doug Deal July 13, 2009 at 9:51 pm

You can represent me in Deal v Target in the case of the faulty bookshelves.

Jason Shepherd July 14, 2009 at 11:03 am

I still have a year before I can take the bar. I’m interning under the 3rd year practice rule.

If anyone wants to watch a really miserable movie, watch “meteor” on Hulu. I am talking high school play level of acting skill and elementary school level of creative writing.

Jason Shepherd July 14, 2009 at 11:02 am

Jason Shepherd July 14, 2009 at 3:25 pm

I wonder too. She may be doing something productive now that she has those hundreds of hours of her life back.

Doug Deal July 14, 2009 at 3:34 pm

Jason Shepherd July 14, 2009 at 6:29 pm

I’m still not sure what I think about the new format. On one hand, I like you can reply to a comment without your reply being 15 comments below the original. On the other hand, dozens of separate conversations does get annoying. I give the new format a C+.

Which one, I forget which I am on.

Icarus July 17, 2009 at 2:16 pm

Yes, that one.

Dash Riptide July 17, 2009 at 12:35 pm

I bet this thread would load faster if y’all delete the archived posts.

Jason Shepherd July 17, 2009 at 1:31 pm

But if we did that, then the Dream would never be realized.

Jason Shepherd July 17, 2009 at 1:34 pm

Actually, come to think of it, since this is the Archives, can’t we bring back and discuss any entry that is within the archives?

How about this one:
http://www.peachpundit.com/2005/06/30/endorsement/
Endorsement
by Erick on June 30, 2005

For what it is worth, other than endorsing Sonny for re-election, I’ll be staying out of the endorsement business for now. The primary is, after all, a year away.

Icarus July 17, 2009 at 1:39 pm

Two points:

1) June 30, 2005

2) “for now”

What am I missing in the point you are trying to make?

Jason Shepherd July 17, 2009 at 1:51 pm

It’s an archived thread that’s now closed. I think we should bring back the discussion on it since this is the Archives comment section. If you would rather comment on another archived thread, find one you want to re-open comments for. However, this one received no comments and I thought no tread should be commentless. It’s like an orphaned child sitting there commentless. That’s why we should make comments….it’s for the children.

Icarus July 17, 2009 at 1:56 pm

So this is a new “No Thread Left Behind” initiative?

Konop isn’t going to like this at all…

Jason Shepherd July 17, 2009 at 2:02 pm

Indeed. This is a “No Thread Left Behind” initiative.

Icarus July 17, 2009 at 1:58 pm

O.K., to comment on this uncommented thread, I will offer the following:

“I’m not sure if I’m willing to endorse Sonny for re-election yet”

Jason Shepherd July 17, 2009 at 2:04 pm

I hear he may have a primary challenge. Some guy from Henry County. I think he may be a flagger. Erick can do what he wants, but if that pans out, I will have to stay officially neutral.

Dash Riptide July 17, 2009 at 1:38 pm

Keep the Archives tab, but lose the pesky content. It’s like that spare bedroom I have reserved for Megan Fox, except that I’ve never purged any content from it.

Doug Deal July 17, 2009 at 2:14 pm

If we really wanted to open another archived thread back up, I would suggest the thread of dreams itself.

Doug Deal July 17, 2009 at 2:16 pm

Also, does anyone else find it weird that the ads that were heralded in with great fanfare have disappeared without a word?

Jason Shepherd July 17, 2009 at 2:26 pm

There were ads?

Icarus July 17, 2009 at 2:44 pm

They were all just a horrible attack on The Ox, and had to be pulled.

Jason Shepherd July 17, 2009 at 2:47 pm

as they should! :)

Doug Deal July 17, 2009 at 8:45 pm

They should attack the ox, or should have been pulled. You told me not to tell the Ox people that you were a Deal mole, but it looks like you might have just outed yourself.

Jason Shepherd July 17, 2009 at 10:09 pm

Should be pulled.

Doug Deal July 17, 2009 at 10:15 pm

Sure, Jason, sute.

Doug Deal July 18, 2009 at 12:35 pm

sute is ancient latin for sure.

Jason Shepherd July 18, 2009 at 2:06 pm

Then why didn’t you say, “Sute Iason, sute.”

There was no “J” in Latin.

Doug Deal July 18, 2009 at 2:21 pm

I like to “mix it up”.
