So happy to be a part of the Peach Pundit team! Here’s a little info about me:
Growing up we were not allowed to say the word “hate” in our family. One night, our parents were caught discussing how they hated Rihanna (case in point), so that’s the term we used from there on out… We Rihanna-ed Mom’s meatloaf night, having to go to bed early, cleaning… You name it, we used that term as much as we could.
I say all that to say, I Rihanna being called a Millennial. I would really like to give the jerk that came up with all of this a knuckle sandwich! Ok, definitely not the type to be violent, but you get my drift. We all know it’s true (I’m 29… And holding), and am not a borderline Millennial…. I’m smack dab in the middle of this generation, and don’t like it one bit.
Why, you ask? Because, I wasn’t raised to be lazy, entitled, whiny, or any of the other adjectives you may choose for a Millennial. I was raised in a family of hardworking, fiscally responsible, small business owning people. These people shaped me to think outside the box, work hard, problem solve, and have the determination to get even the (seemingly) impossible achieved. I’m proud to say I come from a family of great hardworking Americans.
My family is originally from Ohio. I was born & raised in Winter Park, Florida. Not trying to be the stereotype, but I love surfing & flamingos. My Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management-Event Planning is from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!), and although I consider the Sunshine State to be “home”, it’s really nice to now be a “Georgia Peach.”
2009-2013 I served on the board of the Cobb Young Republicans, am currently the Secretary of the Georgia Young Republicans, 2012 Republican Leadership of Georgia Graduate, and am a member of Junior League of Cobb-Marietta.
I’m very excited to be a front page poster on Peach Pundit with some of the best and brightest in Georgia, and I’m looking forward to productive conversations with folks from around the state.
