Fundraising Never Stops -And McFadden Stays At It

Even judicial campaigns have to raise money, and Appellate Court Judge Chris McFadden is on it:

The campaign committee for Judge Chris McFadden filed its January 31 financial disclosure this week and reports $109,375.00 in total contributions for the year 2014. McFadden – a judge on the Georgia Court of Appeals – was pleased with the results of his campaign’s fundraising. “I am honored to have the support of over 350 of Georgia’s finest lawyers.”

McFadden was first elected in November 2010 with 62% of the vote – winning 151 out of 159 counties. “In 2010 we had a statewide political operation running full time,” McFadden said. “We will be fully staffed again by the beginning of 2016 and prepared for any potential challenges. If opposed, I intend to win”

The Chris McFadden campaign is proud to announce that it will be chaired by Atlanta attorney Gary Freed. Attorney Charles Cork of Macon will serve as treasurer.

I met Judge McFadden many times during the 2010 election cycle. I’ve always thought he was a pretty good guy and has done a good job on the Court of Appeals. I’m just wondering how this is news…

$100,000 is good but not great. It won’t scare away a real challenger. Again, why is this news? Someone got paid to make it news.
