For the first time in 13 years, all units of the Georgia National Guard will be back in Georgia for Christmas. Thirteen. Years.
We thank them for their service, and are glad that they will be able to spend the holidays with family and friends like we are able to. We also remember that many Georgians continue to serve overseas in the Armed Services, as well at home as police, fire, EMS, in hospitals and air traffic control towers, and many, many other roles where there is no “day off”. It takes quite a few people to protect us abroad, serve us at home, and do a lot of things that allow us to go about our daily lives as routine. Merry Christmas to all who will be working today and tomorrow so that the rest of us can enjoy the holiday.
