Last week, former DeKalb County Board of Education member and State School Superintendent candidate Nancy Jester wrote a blog post that hinted she might be interested in running for a seat on the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners.

This morning, it appears that decision has been made. In an email sent to her list, she says, “I’m running for the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners.”

She will kick off her campaign with an event on Thursday, hosted by Sen. Fran Millar, Sen. Josh McKoon, Rep. Tom Taylor, Councilman Terry Nall, Councilman Denny Shortal and Councilman Doug Thompson.

while i choose not to play by plenty of grammatical rules, and normally don’t nit-pick others, i am only writing blog posts, while ms. jester’s announcement was official communication. for someone who was running for education-related seats, she needs to do better proofreading, or improve her grammar skills generally.

I wonder if Todd Rehm will run her campaign for Dekalb Commissioner as bad as he did for State Super..

It looks to me that she just wants a place in politics doesnt really matter what that place is. Very Karen Handelesque. That’s not a good sign in my opinion.

Agree. I will say though, in her defense, at least she’s scaling back her aspirations rather than seeking an unwarranted promotion.

She has the requisite combination of attempts and offices to qualify for a state appointment if she’s not elected. Unfortunately it’s slim pickings, and who knows what others will be ahead come Nov. 5.

Hey, there may be an Executive Director job opening up in the near future!
