Glad to see the ever prescient Algore is spot on with his global warming screeching! LOL!
From the UK Daily Mail –
“Seven years after former US Vice-President Al Gore’s warning, Arctic ice cap has expanded for second year in row. An area twice the size of Alaska – America’s biggest state – was open water two years ago and is now covered in ice.”
And to quote the Swami himself, “The ice cap is falling off a cliff. It could be completely gone in summer in as little as 7 years from now.”
    What a putz!

Anyone citing the tabloid Daily Mail as a source of fact is quite the putz indeed. It’s one step above the National Enquirer.

      • Noway says:

I simply listed Gore’s quote of 7 years ago and how totally BS it was then versus the FACTS now. You shoot the messenger, much David? LMAO!

    • George Chidi says:

Read this Slate piece and then tell me the joker in the Daily Mail can be believed.

“In 2012, a mix of unusual causes created conditions where the minimum reached a record low, far below normal. The next year, in 2013, the ice didn’t reach quite so low a minimum extent, and this year looks very much the same as 2013. But saying the ice is “recovering” is, to put it delicately, what comes out the south end of a north-facing bull. You can’t compare two years to a record low the year before that was due to unusual circumstances; you have to look at the average over time.”

      • Noway says:

George, has the ice melted? Was Gore correct? In the 7 years since Gore’s dire prediction, has the ice he was refering to melted?

  2. George Chidi says:

Did you even read the Slate piece?

What you think (or would like to believe) Gore said is wrong. What you are suggesting — that the polar ice cap is somehow recovering — is wrong. Look at the damned chart in the Slate piece, brother. David Rose is playing you.

Strange topic for Labor Day. Even stranger, as noted, is running out the Daily Mail to do climate change battle with capital-S science, all to get in a dig at Al Gore.

I’ll just continue to watch the movement of fire ants, armadillos, gators, and slash pines northward through Georgia and leave the examination of melting permafrost and ice-free Artic seas to the pros.

I went out this morning for some gas and cokes, a cup of coffee and muffin, and groceries. You’ll all be heartened I’m sure to learn that each establishment I visited was staffed by a full roster of American labor, although whether that fact indicates a celebration of labor or capital I’ll leave to you.

Worth noting that today is the 75th anniversary of the Nazi invasion of Poland. Peach Pundit regrets the mistake and blames others

So this was opening day for atrocities of 150 years ago, 100 years ago, 75 years ago, and today in Ukraine. It’s interesting how armies are motivated to invade just before the harvest season and it’s supposed to be all done and finished in a matter of weeks – before bad weather. Putin just said he could take Kiev in 2 weeks.
