One of our own has been named one of the RNC’s ‘Rising Stars’, a fairly new program which highlights conservative leaders around the country who are making a name for themselves within the Republican Party. State Rep. BJay Pak of Gwinnett, along with three other individuals, received the honor at the recent RNC meeting in Chicago. Rep. Pak has been instrumental in Asian-American outreach within the party.

From a press release from the Georgia GOP:

(Atlanta, GA) – At their Summer Meeting in Chicago, the Republican National Committee added Georgia State Representative BJ Pak (R-108) and three other conservative leaders to the RNC Rising Stars program.

“I am proud and excited to welcome Will, BJ, Amanda, and Evelyn as the fourth installment to our Rising Stars program,” said Chairman Priebus. “These four individuals embody the GOP’s message of freedom and opportunity and I look forward to working with them as we grow and strengthen our party.”

“We can all learn from the diverse stories and perspective that this group has to offer,” said Co-Chair Day. “I am continually impressed by the incredible accomplishments and talent that each Rising Star class brings to the table.”

The full press release is below the fold. Congrats to Rep. Pak and his pinstripes.

“On behalf of the Georgia Republican Party, I would like to congratulate Rep. Pak on this incredible accomplishment,” said GAGOP Chairman John Padgett.  “BJ is a bold lawmaker in the Georgia General Assembly, a hardworking attorney and community leader, and a dedicated family man and friend.  We are proud of BJ’s accomplishments thus far and look forward to seeing what the future holds.”

The RNC launched the Rising Stars program last year to showcase conservative leaders around the country who are making a name for themselves within the Republican Party.
