After a heck of a game yesterday the US v. Portugal game ended in a tie. I’m sure many heart attacks were had after the last five minutes of the match. Here’s what else happened over the weekend.

Georgia

Georgia’s Senate race is still catching some national attention. My favorite line – “Longest runoff ever.”
The Georgia Historical Society is going to be showcasing Georgia’s business history.
9 years later there are still some rough spots around integrated math, this time around testing.
Georgia and Gov. Deal in the Jerusalem Post?
Start up culture is growing in Atlanta.

National International

I put more stock in 538 but I don’t think we’ll really understand the Cantor defeat for another 30 years.
Need a rundown on the new House Leadership. Wonkblog has you covered.
Curious how year two of the ACA will be paid for? States are too.
Things are flaring up in the West Bank again.
Is what we’re seeing in Iraq going to happen in Afghanistan too?

Everything Else

The declining bee populations seem to have been noticed.
A Game of Thrones type era in human history, evidence found in Spain.

The Poles, the Germans, the Iraqis, etc. now realize the basic fact that Obama is full of talk and BS.

i’m basically familiar with the details, which is part of why it seems sketchy–it is a little unclear just where mr kumaran’s financing is coming from–most of his film credits up to now are either bollywood or straight to video stuff–he plans to put a concert arena in effingham on the site? mcuh like the daimler plant that was never built on the mega site, i am cautiously optimistic at best on this projects prospects…

i’ve mentioned on another thread, i’m still wait and see on the studio in effingham county–it’ll be great if it happens, but i think there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the guy behind it…
