We have the following statement from Congressman Tom Price regarding his future plans.  It seems to indicate he’s not actively seeking a leadership position, but isn’t ruling it out either.  Read it and interpret it for yourself.

“The encouragement I’ve received from colleagues over these past couple of days has been humbling. My position has always been that I’m ready to serve in whatever capacity might best help unify our team, promote our conservative principles and, above all, pursue positive solutions on behalf of our constituents. To that end, at this time, my focus is on the opportunity to serve as the next chairman of the House Budget Committee.”

Per Robert Costa, McCarthy has the votes. I’m sure Rep Price knew this before he issued his statement.

The GOP is out of power, so natch it’s imperative to focus on budget deficits. Besides, a physician with pending healthcare legislation that would replace Obamacare, the biggest healthcare disaster facing the country since the enactment of Medicare, focusing on that legislation doesn’t make sense.
