Former Georgia congressman and Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is getting on the Jack Kingston endorsement bandwagon. In an announcement from the Kingston campaign, Gingrich says,

I counted on Jack Kingston to help me implement the Contract with America, enact welfare reform, and balance the budget for the first time in a generation. I can say from first hand experience that he is a tireless reformer dedicated to advancing our conservative values.

Now is the time for conservative reformers like Jack Kingston who will take bold action to shake up the status quo and renew the American Dream for generations to come.

Gingrich, who developed the Contract with America that was widely seen as a major factor leading to the 1994 Republican takeover of the house of Representatives, helped recruit Kingston to run for Congress.

In his Senate campaign, Kingston is pushing for a similar agenda, called the American Renewal Initiative. Kingston maintains the effort, which includes plans for strong national security, reduced spending and job creation can unify Republicans in much the same way Gingrich’s Contract with America did twenty years ago.

The runoff election between Kingston and David Perdue is scheduled for July 22nd. Absentee ballots are already being issued, and early voting is 21 days away.
