U.S. Senate hopeful (and presumed winner of next week’s Democratic primary) Michelle Nunn is facing another round of criticism for her refusal to debate the other candidates.
WBB-TV, metro Atlanta’s No. 1-rated station, is hosting a Democratic U.S. Senate debate this weekend, but Nunn has declined the station’s invitation to attend. Nunn said voters aren’t interested in hearing candidates debate among themselves.
WSB-TV political analyst Bill Crane concedes Nunn will win the primary outright, but may have a lot of work to do to mobilize black voters come November.
Nunn has participated in one debate with Steen Miles and Branko Radulovacki, neither of whom have mounted any challenge to Nunn’s front-running campaign.
