Fraternal Order Of Police Endorse Pridemore

Law enforcement has become a big deal in Georgia’s 11th Congressional District.  It is, after all, the place where Rep Sam Moore that wants to authorize “legal force” against officers resides.  It’s kind of surprising that support for police officers and sheriff’s deputies would be debatable, but then again, you have Bob Barr out there calling these guys “Barney and Andy with a militia.”

Not terribly surprisingly, the endorsement from the Cobb Fraternal Order of Police didn’t go to Barr.  Instead, Tricia Pridemore is their choice to beat him.  I’m told they would like to see that happen pretty badly.

Her press release is below the fold.

MARIETTA, GA-Today the Kermit Sanders Lodge #13 of the Fraternal Order of Police announced its endorsement of Tricia Pridemore for Congress in Georgia’s 11th district. The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 325,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges nationwide.

“The Cobb FOP Lodge #13 is proud to endorse Tricia Pridemore for Congress in Georgia’s 11th district race,” said lodge President Bill Mull.  “Mrs. Pridemore has been a consistent supporter of law enforcement throughout her life and career, and we feel strongly that she is the best-suited candidate in this race to tackle the challenges facing our community.”

“Tricia is a hard-worker.  When she gets to Washington, I know she will fight to make sure the needs and interests of law enforcement officers remain a priority for Cobb County and the state of Georgia,” said lodge member Steve Gaynor.

“As one of the leading voices for law enforcement in Georgia, it is a distinct privilege to receive the support of our local FOP lodge,” said Pridemore.  “When elected, I will work tirelessly to ensure our loyal and dedicated law enforcement officers are equipped to do what they do best–keep our community, neighborhoods and families safe.”

Don’t forget that Barr defended cop killer Troy Davis & didn’t want him executed. I’m guessing policemen in Georgia as a whole are not fans of Bob.

The SOS used to have a charitable rating page on their website but I couldn’t find it. Is it there ?
KH once advised a group I was in that, in general. if you got a call for money and they said police or fire, hang up the phone. Maybe FOP is an exception ?
