DA David McDade to retire at month’s end

Citing personal health issues, embattled Douglas County District Attorney David McDade will retire at the end of this month. McDade will not face any criminal charges following months of investigation by the GBI, the Georgia Attorney General’s Office and other appointed investigators.

Chief Asst. Douglas County District Attorney Brian Fortner will step up to fill the vacancy left by McDade’s retirement. Democrat Dalia Racine has already announced a run for the position in the November general election.
