Morning Reads for April 1st, 2014

Happy Tuesday! On this day in 1572, Spanish general and governor Fernando Álvarez de Toledo, 3rd Duke of Alba lost his glasses in the town of Brielle, enabling sea beggars to move in. And in 1833 – Mexican Texans met at San Felipe de Austin to combat evil. So, hug all Spaniards and Texans today. Morning Reads after the jump!

What I learned at the Alamo:
Mexico got independence from Spain, opened their northern territory doors – Texas – to immigrants, the immigrants didn’t assimilate, too many came, restrictions didn’t work, a bunch of illegals got shot in the Alamo, then the masses of illegals triumphed and established a Republic……The Indians told the Spanish and Mexicans, what goes around, comes around.

only to be crushed when I realized.

    Then this: http://www.peachpundit.com/2014/04/01/cobb-gwinnett-to-join-marta-july-1/

    only to once again realize…

Moral of the story: I am an incredibly gullible sucker (read:optimist). Even when I see it coming, I still fall for it. 😀

How much of the tens of billions in “aide” sent to Pakistan has been used to fund the Haqqania madrasa and its ilk to train current and future jihadists? Will our political leaders ever learn?
