We just received the news via press release that Rep. Donna Sheldon, who is a candidate in the 10th Congressional District race, has been endorsed by the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund. As I recall, this is the second candidate endorsed by SBA here in Georgia.

I can tell you from having served with Rep. Sheldon that she is a pro-life champion. There was a time during the debate over HB954, the bill mentioned in the press release, that the bill was going to fail in Conference. It was Sheldon’s leadership on the issue that revived the bill by finding a solution that brought about the bill’s successful passage. Oh, and that wasn’t the first time during her time in the House she’d successfully fought for pro-life issues. I’m glad a well respected group like SBA is recognizing her leadership and her solid pro-life credentials.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced its endorsement of State Representative Donna Sheldon for Congress in Georgia’s 10th district.

“State Representative Donna Sheldon has been a longtime champion for Georgia women and unborn children and we are proud to endorse her candidacy for U.S. Congress,” said SBA List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Rep. Sheldon was a lead sponsor of a historic 2012 measure to protect babies after 20 weeks, more than halfway through pregnancy and past the point at which they can feel pain. With her support, Georgia became one of a dozen states to pass this compassionate, common ground legislation in recent years.

“Donna Sheldon is exactly the type of courageous and resolute pro-life candidate that the SBA List Candidate Fund exists to support. We hope to see her victorious on Election Day so she can go on to serve women and families across America.”

State Rep. Sheldon was first elected to the Georgia State House in 2002. She has served as the Chair of the House Majority Caucus since 2009. A wife and mother of two, Sheldon has also been a small business owner for more than 12 years. She has been endorsed by Speaker David Ralston, Speaker Pro Tem Jan Jones, and Majority Leader Larry O’Neal.

This is an open seat with the primary election set for May 20.

The Susan B. Anthony List and its affiliated Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, are dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women at all levels of government. The SBA List is a network of more than 365,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.

Another endorsement from the ill-informed Susan B. Anthony organization.

According to Susan B. Anthony, Karen Handel was Georgia’s first female Secretary of State.

Not endorsing Sheldon noting she’s been Chair of the House Majority Caucus since 2009 despite the fact Sheldon didn’t even serve in the 2014 General Assembly.

Yeah, this is an organization you can expect to be well-informed.
