The Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Dave Williams reports that the State School board has passed a resolution that will minimize or eliminate re-scheduling of snow days:
The resolution allows local school boards to shorten their school calendars so they don’t have to make up days lost during periods when the governor has declared a state of emergency.
“The approval of this resolution will allow local schools districts the flexibility to determine if school days missed due to inclement weather will be made up,” state School Superintendent John Barge. “Each district has a unique set of challenges with regard to restoring the days missed, so we wanted to ensure they had the means to do whatever was best for them.”
In other news, it sure is warm outside today.
