A plea deal has been reached for the former Human Resources director of Atlanta Public Schools.  The AJC has the details:

“The former head of human resources for Atlanta Public Schools intends to plead guilty Monday, the highest-ranking educator to admit wrongdoing in the widespread cheating case, said Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard.

Under an agreement with prosecutors, Millicent Few will plead guilty to a reduced charge and cooperate in the ongoing case against the remaining defendants accused of conspiring to cheat, including former Superintendent Beverly Hall.

Few will testify that she personally observed Hall commit a crime ordering the destruction of documents related to an internal investigation at Deerwood Academy, Howard confirmed.”

The AJC notes that 15 defendants remain in this case.  if there’s one thing positive to be said here, we’re closer to the end than the beginning of this tragic mess.
