Neal Florence Heads to February 4th Runoff in HD2 Special Election

Florence Humbled by Support – Ready to Get to Work

LaFayette, GA., January 7, 2014 – With all precincts reporting, Neal Florence has made the runoff in the HD2 Special Election. The deciding election will be held on February 4th. Florence received 964 votes and made the runoff by a 190 vote margin.

“I want to congratulate Doug Woodruff for running a great campaign. He and I share a commitment to serving the people of this district and I hope to see Doug on the ballot again in the near future,” said Neal Florence. “It is humbling to receive the support of so many today who went to the ballot box and cast their vote for me. I will work hard during this runoff and even harder once I am elected.”

Over 60 percent of today’s voters voted against Steve Tarvin, who as of 3PM on Election Day had failed to file his campaign finance disclosures in direct violation of the law. With the ethical problems we have seen from some of our elected leaders, it is extremely disappointing to have a candidate for State House refuse to show where his money came from and how he spent it.

“We will continue our campaign to help grow jobs for NW Georgia, improve our schools and our communities, and reign in government spending and burdensome regulation,” said Florence. “I look forward to the next few weeks of campaigning and listening to the voters.”

In case the Florence campaign is struggling with basic math, I’d like to remind them that over 65% of voters in the Special Election voted against Neal Florence. As a friendly FYI, that’s MORE than 60%.
