Aim to Support Our Veterans

With Veterans Day approaching on November 11th, it’s heartwarming to see so many organizations stand up to support the cause, especially the ones that work tirelessly year round to help our veterans. A Georgia branch of the organization Love Your Veterans.org, which focuses specifically on helping veterans transition home and back into civilian life, is hosting a 2nd amendment Shoot-a-thon PRO-AM next weekend (November 9th).

The goal is to raise awareness and support for returning veterans as they make the transition into civilian life. This 3 Gun competition is for all skill levels and will have coaching opportunities provided by nationally ranked marksmen. There will be prizes awarded and two authors, Melanie Davis and US Marine Matt Brown, will be on hand to autograph copies of their books (Amazon Best Sellers).

Since it is Veterans Day weekend, we are hosting a “Turkey Shoot” to benefit the local American Legion Post. This is a fun event and admission to it is only $3 per shot, shoot once or as many as you like using your own shotgun. You shoot targets, not actual turkeys, and prizes are awarded for the best shot from every round. Roughly 20 chances to win in a single day!

The public is invited to attend for free to watch both events, mingle with the many veterans that will be present and let these brave soldiers know we care. Profits from the event go directly to either Love Your Veterans or the American Legion Post (Turkey Shoot only). Additional donations are welcome and any businesses or individuals that want to donate prizes or sponsorships are most welcome

Aim to Support Our Veterans. The Facebook event is here. The LoveYourVeterans website is here. Here is a video detailing the cause for which part of proceeds go toward. If it’s not this organization, find one near you. Let’s support those who sacrifice for us. Guns and veterans? I’m in.
