Jack Kingston Raises Over $800K for Senate Race

Politico is reporting this evening the news that Senatorial candidate Jack Kingston will have some good fundraising numbers on Tuesday, when third quarter reports are due:

Georgia Rep. Jack Kingston, running for an open Senate seat in a fragmented Republican primary field, will report Tuesday that he raised slightly more than $800,000 in the third quarter and has $2.9 million cash on hand.

His numbers, shared first with POLITICO, mean that he’s raised more than $800,000 for three quarters in a row and has no debt.

Kingston, who is trying to raise awareness in the part of Georgia that is outside his Savannah-based congressional district, raised more than half the donations from outside southern Georgia.

Evidently candidates are still expected to file their quarterly reports online with the FEC (barring technical glitches while the system is unmanned), even though the agency is shut down. I wonder if the reports will be viewable by the public before they reopen?

Hah, take that you bunch of Tea Party Republicans. Jack Kingston has been in Washington a lot longer than you have and his Appropriations Subcommittee chairmanship still brings in the big bucks.
