Technology Association Of Georgia Teams Up With Georgia And Tennessee To Help Veterans

The Technology Association of Georgia is teaming up with the State of Georgia and the State of Tennessee in the “Paychecks for Patriots” program. Both states’ Departments of Labor will hosting events that will help veterans to find jobs. In Georgia, the Paychecks for Patriots event will be on Thursday, October 17th in Savannah, Warner Robins, Augusta, Columbus, and metro Atlanta. Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Services will also be on hand at the Savannah location.

There will be some beneficial workshops teaching how to write a resume and interviewing skills. From a press release issued by the Technology Association of Georgia:

In addition to the Career Expo, the GDOL Special Workforce Assistance Team (SWAT) will offer workshops for veterans prior to the Oct 17 event. The workshops will include resume writing assistance, how to successfully work a Career Expo, as well as interviewing and networking skills. Veterans receive priority service throughout Georgia’s Career Centers, where veteran representatives are available to assist them in their job search.

The Technology Association of Georgia is working to pair veterans with technology companies looking for sharp talent:

We feel that many of our returning soldiers would be a perfect fit for building Georgia’s Technology future. At a time when soldiers are looking for their next destination, we want to make sure they know all that Georgia has to offer in the way of opportunities and success,” said Tino Mantella, President, Technology Association of Georgia.
