Isakson Chief of Staff Gets New Gig

U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson announced today that his Chief of Staff, Chris Carr, will be nominated by Governor Deal to serve as Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. He will take office Nov. 1 and will serve as honorary chairman of Isakson’s 2016 campaign.

“I would not be in the Senate today without Chris Carr’s political skills, and I am very glad he will be honorary chairman for my 2016 re-election,” Isakson said in a statement. “I am very proud that Chris is now the second Isakson staffer chosen to lead this agency that is so critical to Georgia’s future.”

Replacing Carr will be Joan Kirchner.

Bart I have talked to Chris a few times a real bright guy. I would bet he has very good contacts via his last job. I think it was a smart choice by Governor Deal.
