I’m not sure how many more elections Repub.’s have to lose before realizing mindlessly running against ObamaCare, with the same stale sound-bytes ain’t gonna win any more elections. Find a replacement and sell it voters.

I know political consultants are a stubborn bunch, but come on guys, I’m sure yall can come up with something better…

It looks like Benghazi will be the next endlessly repeated buzzword, unless it’s the IRS scandal. Either could be the greatest thing since Obama’s birth certificate. See Gohmert and Allen West, Bachman and Stockman, today or any day. They don’t even need to hold office anymore to hold forth.

I guess we can’t avoid Twitter even if we want to now? If I wanted to know what Twits were saying about Broun I think I would sign up, right?

I would sure like to be in favor of something than be opposed to everything. Meaning elections need to be relevant to voters intent.

……….Global medical costs — how the US stacks up………..

    http://money.msn.com/health-and-life-insurance/global-medical-costs-how-the-us-stacks-up

The key takeaway on above article is we pay twice as much on healthcare relative to GDP, and do not have any better results. In fact one could argue other than top end procedures, we are probably behind on basic access and needs for day to day healthcare. One cannot argue the current model is broken. Obama care is a start, but we need real reform ASAP……we cannot afford the current system.

    Examples of Solutions:

    1) Exchanges that allow small businesses and or individuals to self insure and only carry catastrophic ie about 20% savings
    2) End of Life “Directives” we send about 60% of healthcare on last 6 months of life. Many would by-pass many procedures…..
    3) Put in dial doc phones in emergency rooms for non emergency care….charge large transaction fee if they do not use phone if non emergency.
    4) Treat mental illness with proper monitoring of medication with electronic system/parole officer over using the prison system as a mental health care facility.
    5) If people refuse to buy healthcare, if they cannot afford the care and have an emergency, put in the same debt rules as a student loan……..with penalties and interest….
    6) Use the VA negotiated drug prices for Medicare/Medicaid, government workers and people in the exchanges….about 60% savings
    7) Increase co pays on cosmetic elective procedures for Medicare

    There are many more….

Someday we’ll have enough legislators who actually want to make progress rather than fight the opposition for any (or no) reason, and we’ll get something done.

      It’s really tragic.

Of course there’s no argument that the current model is broken because Obamacare is what broke it.

“Gov. Romney understands that Obamacare will bankrupt our country and ruin the best health care delivery system in the world.” — John Boehner, July 1, 2012, CBS’ Face the Nation.

The American people don’t like the ACA. Republicans in Washington think they’re playing the same old game. They’re not. American people a year from now once this healthcare system has destroyed what we have come to expect from American healthcare. When our children and your children are struggling just to be able to see a doctor, when their jobs have been lost or their hours have been cut, extensively. If our politicians are not clearly on the record saying I’m against this, then they should not go to town hall meetings because they will be ripped apart by angry Americans. And forget about running again.

Worst bill ever, passed by the worst president ever.

Americans are overwhelmingly against this as are businesses as they dump coverage like Trader Joes, Sea Worls, Unions…etc…

The thing is, every other industrialized country in the world already has something like this. We were rapidly falling behind in the quality of care as well as soaring costs compared to the rest of the world. What we WERE doing was eating us alive. This is the safe route forward because it’s been tried, tested, implemented, and been functioning for many years.
