GA DOL Fumbles

Ever had to deal with identify theft? To put it mildly, its a horrendous challenge.

The lucky “winners” this time are some Cobb and Cherokee County residents. Via wsbradio.com:

How would you like a stranger to know your name, age, phone number, email and social security number? For thousands of Cobb and Cherokee County residents, that nightmare is now a reality.

The Georgia Department of Labor admits one of its employees mistakenly sent vital information including social security numbers on 4,757 people of Cobb and Cherokee Counties who were unemployed as of September 25, 2012 to about 1,000 people who were on that same list. For those whose private information is now public, it’s a nightmare come true.

    Clark Howard says fixing an identity theft is a full time job. Looks like the DOL just made their numbers look better.
