The Peach Pundit BBQ Tour will visit Georgia’s Ninth Congressional district next Saturday with a stop at Zeb’s BBQ in Danielsville. I have never tried Zeb’s nor have I ever been to Danielsville on purpose, so this should be a new treat. Zeb’s comes highly recommended.
Note that the University of Georgia has an off day on the schedule, so this date is not an accident. For those of you who cheer for Tech (Why? How?), they’re playing away at Duke.
We’ll be there from 4:30 to a bit after 6:00pm. As is the custom at these events, Congressman Collins (and only Congressman Collins) will speak, then those of us from Peach Pundit will ask him a few questions for a podcast as we’ve done with Congressmen Rob Woodall, Lynn Westmoreland, John Barrow, and Tom Price.
This is a mostly casual, friendly event. Thus, don’t make me be a butt and have to remind you at the event of our now clearly written and documented rules: This is not a town hall. You will not, no matter who you are, be allowed to hold our audience captive to campaign and/or grind an ax. You will not be allowed to decorate the hall on behalf of your group or organization. And all rules and direction provided by anyone from Peach Pundit is final so please don’t ask if you can put up your “professional” backdrop 6 times after you’ve been told “no” three or four times already.
This is an informal gathering that allows those that show up to have one on one interaction with your Congressmen as well as those that write about them. It’s not for your preening or grandstanding, and it’s not so you can gutlessly litter the parking lot with flyers instead of coming in and having a civil conversation.
Thus, we look forward to seeing some of you. Others, not so much.
