Williams, Flemming Endorse Rick Allen For GA CD-12

For those looking for additional entrants into the GOP race for the opportunity to challenge John Barrow, your wish list appears to have shrunk by two yesterday.  Both State Senator Tommie Williams of Lyons and State Representative (and former Congressional Candidate) Barry Flemming of Harlem have endorsed Augusta’s Rick Allen.  Quotes from each distributed by Rick Allen’s campaign team include:

“Rick has been a tremendous force for good in the Augusta community,” Williams said.  “He is a savvy and successful businessman who understands that local citizens and leaders know better than the federal government how to solve the challenges that face them.  Washington needs a lot more of that kind of attitude these days.”

“We are a conservative state and a conservative community but our current representative in Congress represents the opposite view of governing,” Fleming said.  “Rick believes that less federal government, lower taxes and a better business climate beat John Barrow’s big-government, top-down, Washington-first approach every time.”

Allen faces John Stone in the GOP primary contest.

692,000 people in CD-12, and these are our two choices?
Any chance we’ll see another entry to the race?

With us being about 6 months from qualifying and 8.5 months from the election, I would say no. It would be nice if somebody would primary Rep. Barrow, though. 🙂

Come on, Lawton, surely you can work magic to get another GOP entry. Tommy Williams would have been wasting his time and knew it. Unless Stone gets momentum, you will be looking at the same dynamic as last year, yet for different reasons…….and probably the same result.

We hate it for you. You deserve better.
