I’ve been away from the computer for most of the day and just learned of the passing of State Representative Quincy Murphy. He lost a battle with cancer this morning according to the Augusta Chronicle.
Speaker David Ralston issued the following statement:
“With the passing of Quincy Murphy today, the State of Georgia has lost a great leader, those he served in Augusta, Richmond County and Jefferson County have lost a tireless advocate, and I have lost a dear friend. Quincy Murphy spoke with a quiet but powerful voice on behalf of those whom he lifted up each day in his public service. Losing Quincy will leave a real void in the Georgia House of Representatives. I know that each member of the House joins me in expressing our sadness and sympathy to his family and friends.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Rep. Murphy’s family and friends.
