Lawrenceville’s P.K. Martin Will Not Seek Reelection.

We just received the news via press release that P.K. Martin, who has served four terms on the Lawrenceville City Council will not seek reelection this fall. Martin will have served eight years on the Council as the terms during his service were two year terms. Lawrenceville recently switched to four year terms with term limits. I live just outside the city limits of Lawrenceville but my district covers part of the City. IT’s been a pleasure working with him and I look forward to seeing what’s next for him and his family.

Lawrenceville City Councilman P.K. Martin Will Not Seek Re-Election

Lawrenceville City Councilman P.K. Martin announced today that he would not seek re-election in November. P.K. has served on the Council for four terms. “It has been a tremendous honor to the serve the people of my hometown, and I am truly thankful for having that opportunity. I ran for City Council because of my belief that Lawrenceville is outstanding and deserved leaders who dream big and have no small ideas. I have truly been humbled by the trust the people have placed in me, and I have been proud of my record of making Lawrenceville even better.”

“While my time on the Council may be coming to an end, my desire to serve our community has only grown stronger. Over the next few months I plan to take some time to consider my options and next steps in how to more effectively serve our community and families in public office moving forward, said P.K.”

About P.K.

P.K. was elected to the Lawrenceville City Council four times and has served the city for nearly eight years.

On the Council, P.K. has been a leader in putting Lawrenceville on a path to greatness. He led the charge to defeat the airport expansion, improved public safety by adding resources and increasing officers on patrol, and has built strong relationships with Georgia Gwinnett College, GMC, the local business community and elected leaders.

A champion for taxpayers, P.K. has supported efforts to increase financial transparency, reform government, cut taxes and increase reserves. In addition, P.K. has worked tirelessly to improve our quality of life. He has strengthened development regulations and code enforcement, worked to complete major downtown improvement like the Aurora Theatre, Heritage Trail and the soon to be Lawrenceville Lawn, and pushed for funding for our aging neighborhoods.

Peter K. (P.K.) Martin, IV is a Lawrenceville native. After receiving his degree in International Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology, he moved back home to work in the family business, Hood Insurance Agency, in downtown Lawrenceville. P.K. serves on the board of Providence Christian Academy and is Vice President of Professional Insurance Agents of Georgia. He is an active member of his church, Holy Cross in Loganville and is a former member of
Lawrenceville Kiwanis.

P.K. resides in the Forest Hills neighborhood with his wife, Amanda, daughter, Charlotte, and son, Kuhl.
