Peach Pundit BBQ Tour: Augusta – Sconyers BBQ – July 27th

The Peach Pundit BBQ tour will roll into the border city of Augusta on Saturday, July 27th at Sconyers BBQ.  Congressman John Barrow will join us officially making the BBQ tour a bi-partisan endeavor.

As for the cue, we’ll have some Georgia BBQ that appears to have some influence from that state to our East, a/k/a the other Carolina.  Mustard sauce may be involved.  Eric the Younger will be pleased.  I will…try to keep an open mind.  After all, we could be on the other end of the 12th where “some” people put carrots in their Brunswick stew.  If I’m reading the menu at Sconyers correctly, they serve hash instead.  I look forward to getting some education on this type of BBQ.

We’re also looking forward to some time with Congressman Barrow, and appreciate him fitting us in on a busy Saturday. We’ve thus far enjoyed stops with Congressman Rob Woodall at Hometown BBQ in Lawrenceville and Lynn Westmoreland at Sprayberry’s BBQ in Newnan.  We emphasize the informal at these events.  Drop in and eat between noon and 2PM.  At some point during that time, Congressman Barrow will make some short remarks and a few of us from Peach Pundit will have a short Q&A for a podcast that we’ll post after.

As a reminder, this is not a town hall.  No Questions (nor speeches disguised as questions) will be taken from the floor.  You’ll have the Peach Pundit gang and the Congressman available for one on one interaction and that, plus the opportunity to eat some Georgia BBQ, is the focus of the day.

We look forward to seeing some of you.  Others, not so much.

Are you kidding me, Charlie? You keep an open mind about mustard-based barbecue.

You sir, have lost a considerable measure of my respect. I expect better from my internet journalists.

SC “barbecue” is an abomination before God and everybody.

This is likely the first time – excluding faux RINO denouncements – that Charlie has been chastised for having an open mind.

*just checked* the skies are still in the heavens, tho pieces – in liquid form – continue piercing the air unabated.
