No big surprise that Sam Olens and Roy Barnes had a difference in opinion.
Former Governor Barnes and current Attorney General Olens had a brief spat in terms of procedure and constitutionality when the AG refused to allow the former governor to cross examine government attorneys during the hearing to decide Rep. Tyrone Brooks’ fate.
In the grand scheme of things, it seems moot to me. The panel voted unanimously to not suspend Rep. Brooks pending his 30 count indictment by the feds.
The panel of Attorney General Sam Olens, a Republican, House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams, D-Atlanta, and Senate Minority Leader Steve Henson, D-Tucker, all voted not to suspend Brooks, Gov. Nathan Deal’s office told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
