For those who may not (or maybe you are now) be aware, there are two incidents in Atlanta today. First was this morning at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport when a small “electrical explosion” occurred in a maintenance shed near gate D-21. The concourse was closed but has since reopened.
Second is a pair of bomb threats downtown near the state capitol. The Capitol Building was not the target of the threat, but the Judicial as well as the Health building have both been evacuated according to the AJC. According to WSB radio, bomb-sniffing dogs are currently combing the building and surrounding area.
If you have business downtown today in and around Capitol Square, you may need to seek an alternate route until the situation is resolved as both Trinity Avenue and Capitol Square are currently blocked off.
The all-clear has been given near the Capitol.
