Clerk Of The House Robbie Rivers To Retire

I just received word that Robbie Rivers, the Clerk of the House for the past 21 years will retire effective August 1st of this year.

Robbie is a true gentleman, ran the House in an effective, efficient manner and did it with class. It’s been an honor to get to know him and he will be missed.

More on this Aaron Gould Sheinin:

“No one has loved this House more than Robbie Rivers and no one has so fully dedicated themselves to its well-being as he has,” Speaker David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, said in a message to House staff.

Congratulations on an amazing career, Mr. Rivers. Your kind presence, story telling, and hard work will be missed at the Capitol, partner.

I tried calling him “Mr. Rivers.” He yelled at me. Will only answer to “Robbie.” As illustrated above, I accepted the standard designation of “Part-nah.”

There is no one who can’t learn from that man how to be a better person.
