Peach Pundit BBQ Tour, Stop 1: Hometown BBQ In Lawrenceville

Hometown BBQ  The Peach Pundit BBQ Tour will begin next Wednesday Night at Hometown BBQ in Lawrenceville Georgia.  They meet (and meat) our criteria.  The first item on their menu is a pulled pork plate.  As an added bonus, their menu lists their Brunswick Stew as “pork, chicken, beef, tomatoes, corn, and spices”.  I don’t see a green vegetable there.  Thus, it sounds promising.

A few things you need to know.  They only accept cash – NO CREDIT CARDS.  And no, I will not “spot you until next time.”  This is a political gathering, and thus the motto – “In God we trust, all others bring cash.”

They close at 8:00pm, so we’re making the time to eat and socialize from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  Congressman Rob Woodall will come by and say a few words to welcome us to his district.  As noted earlier, this is not a town hall.  Leave the axes you wish to grind at home.  We’re going to eat some good old fashioned GA BBQ and have some time to socialize.  That’s as much of an agenda as we have, and that should be the only agenda you bring with you.

Address:  1173 Lawrenceville Highway Lawrenceville GA 30045

Date: Wednesday, May 1st.

Time: 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Other details:  Did you see the part up there where I said cash only, no credit cards?  Look at it again.  CASH ONLY

We look forward to seeing Congressman Rob Woodall and some of you.  Others, not so much.

For those not able to make it, (or for those that want the “all 14 districts of GA BBQ merit badge”, the next event will be in Georgia 3 on Monday, June 24th.

Hit Heirloom for the first time this weekend. My quick review

Sauce – Classic was pretty good. A little on the sweet side
Pork – Tasty rub but the meat was a little mushy
Stew – I could eat two gallons of it right now. Some of the best I’ve had.

Will now go back to sample the spicy korean pork. I hear it’s really good.
