A story in today’s Peach Pundit Daily re-capped the legislative stand-off on local legislation that happened in the State House yesterday, and included this remark, overheard at the Capitol:

“All this parliamentary crap is boring! Why doesn’t somebody take somebody to Daufuskie Island or something?” Touché.

That prompted this, errm, slightly “acetic” response from one of our subscribers:

Sirs:

“With regards to “The Standoff,” as someone who takes an interest in local legislation, the word I’m thinking of regarding all participants, on both sides, is not touché. It sounds kind of the same, except it starts with a D.”

So don’t be a, well… you know. Subscribe here.

In regards to that second word, I don’t think it sounds the same, though it does look similar. ;-)
