- This news was from last Friday’s afternoon cycle, but I haven’t seen it on PP this week: Southern Co. buys Spectrum Solar Facility. The PSC is expected to consider both plans during the coming months. Any bets on how the lobbying will go down on this one?

Not sure of the legal argument, but I do know Cherokee Charter used their school broad meeting as rally and organization meeting for the amendment. They also handed out flyers……. This was an interesting defense…… What is a Charter school private or public?
Comment:
…..John Konop said “Cherokee Charter in their public board meeting used a good part of the meeting as a how to promote and organize support for the amendment, as well as handed out flyers. This seems rather strange that they are only going after one side.”
Why is it strange? After all you said Cherokee Charter is a “for profit private organization” Are you now changing and correcting what you said before?……..

………Charter school battle turns ugly as legal arguments heat up
Proponents of the November charter school amendment have protested state School Superintendent John Barge’s public stand against the amendment on the DOE web site, which led the state Department of Education to take down a 29-point position paper highlighting the reasons. A link to that paper was on the Georgia Department of Education’s home page.
Today, Attorney General Sam Olens notified Barge to alert local school boards that they “do not have the legal authority to expend funds or other resources to advocate or oppose the ratification of a constitutional amendment by the voters. They may not do this directly or indirectly through associations to which they may belong.”
But Atlanta attorney Emmet Bondurant says Olens — who cited a Bondurant case in his letter — cannot stop elected officials from protesting the amendment…….

I read the letter from Olens. I didn’t see any attempt on the AG’s part to “stop elected officials from protesting the amendment.” That’s a red herring tossed in by Downey.
Let’s debate the issue without spending public funds – for or against.
Fun to watch Chris Matthews panicking, claiming Obama needs to watch MSNBC to learn how to attack Romney better. Ha!
That was an epic meltdown.
I thought your ‘Floridian leeches…’ story was gonna be an expose on the average Obama voter. My bad.
The mainstream media is in an all out frenzy to cover a stripped naked Obama with “left”over ink.
Jim Lehrer may be regretting his decision to come out of semi-retirement and moderate his 12th presidential debate.

I love irony. Jim Lehrer of PBS had the usual introductions as moderator. Mitt Romney says he’s going to cut out funding for PBS and do away with Big Bird and then renders Jim Lehrer useless.
Prediction: Jim Lehrer leaves semi-retired and enters full retirement. Big Bird’s last sighting was at a busy intersection holding a “We buy gold” sign.
LOL…….
This was the story of the day! The lawyer was just getting a different perspective on his cases…… Or maybe testing evidence………
…….Marijuana joint falls out of assistant city attorney’s pocket — in court
Police say Jason Cantrell, who has a private practice but also serves as a part-time assistant city attorney, was in the magistrate section of criminal court chatting with police officers when a marijuana joint fell out of his pocket and onto the floor, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported……

Honestly, if I were still in the market to buy I would probaby be miffed. But it’s probably one of the best ways available to get a real floor and even upward mobility on home prices.
Based on some friends efforts to buy homes before being placed in a bulk sale for substantially more than the value in the package. I’d suggest a good investigative reporter might find a Pulitizer waiting. Some reasons for bulk sales vs cherry picking sound ok but some are red herrings. There are a lot of consortiums chasing these packages. Millions are being made at minimal risk. Something stinks.

We will get the full story after the election.
I guess that depends on which way the election goes.
