I posted a request on my Facebook page today asking friends where some of the events or parties are for watching the Presidential Debate on Wednesday night. Reposting some of them below, and I’m sure you’re invited to any of them. It seems that most people are arriving at their various events at 8 PM.

It appears that most of the responses for events came from Metro Atlanta area, but there are lots of them going on around the state, as well, so post some here…

PAULDING COUNTY — Victory Center in Dallas, GA

ATLANTA — Atlanta Young Republicans – Hudson Grille in Midtown 942 Peachtree Street Northeast Atlanta, GA 30309

GWINNETT COUNTY– Flying Machine at Briscoe Field in Lawrenceville (many of the Tea Party folks to be there)

GWINNETT/DEKALB COUNTIES – THE HOME OF SENATOR CURT THOMPSON — primarily for Democrats I’m sure, though I’m sure all are welcome. This will be at his home at 6320 Glenbrook Drive, Tucker, GA 30084

GWINNETT COUNTY – Olde Towne Tavern in Suwanee

FORSYTH COUNTY – Taco Mac on Marketplace Blvd in Cumming

DECATUR/ATLANTA AREA– Manuel’s Tavern

EAST COBB COUNTY – Tijuana Joes

Where else are they being held in your area?  Post them here…

A great party will be catered with a wonderful buffet and open bar at Charlie’s house tonight. Bring lots of friends. Parking in in the next-door neighbors’ front yards. Charlie is out of town, but please, come and make yourself at home.

If you guys could bring a vacuum, maybe clean a toilet or two, that would be nice.

I was planning for several shovels and a firehose for clean-up purposes. We’ll try to keep it to a dull roar. Is the key to your liquor cabinet still in the same place? What about your gun safe?

Robin Wheeler October 3, 2012 at 10:54 am

Better question – is there actually unconsumed liquor in his cabinet???

Lawton Sack (Go Jackets!) October 3, 2012 at 10:56 am

No

First, Charlie is a liberal, so no guns. Second, he does not store liquor, except in his bloodstream. Third, he said bring a vacuum, but nothing about actually using it. Fourth, he said MAYBE clean a toilet or two. Fifth, well if you are drinking, you probably need to bring your own fifth.

Thanks to that fine law our astute legislature passed a couple of years ago, we can all bring our own guns and give a whole new meaning to the “shots” game.

At GT, their having a debate watching event as part of “Wreck The Vote.” I’ll be speaking beforehand to encourage the kids to register and then vote. I believe a Rep. or Senator will speak on behalf of the Dems as well since it’s a non-partisan affair. Festivities start at 8:30 at the Campanile near the student center.

Mark Rountree October 3, 2012 at 9:49 am

“Non-partisan” in the Republican-Democrat sense?

Or “Non-partisan” in the Georgia – Georgia Tech sense?

Given the number of UGA alums in the House and Senate I assume both.

They’ll snooze through Buzz and the Dem. #LibertarianStronghold #Randistas

I believe the Savannah YRs are having a viewing party at the home of James Hall. Pretty sure there is a FB invite floating around. That being said, I hope everyone will come out at 7 PM tonight for the district attorney debate between candidate Meg Daly Heap and current DA Larry Chisholm. Considering our current crime situation, I hope that all who are able, show up and tell LC what we think about it.

Columbus – 2910 2nd Avenue (County Party HQ). Doors open at 8:30, bring a dessert and drink to share!

SallyForth October 3, 2012 at 4:54 pm

Which party, Joseph? (so people know whether to wear armor or not)
