He’s raised a ton of money from Hollywood types including a fundraiser right here in Atlanta with Tyler Perry in March. It comes as no surprise then that between fundraisers in town the President will drop by the set of ’42′, a film about Jackie Robinson’s first year in the Bigs.
Deadline reports that Obama wants to visit the set of “42,” the movie about baseball great Jackie Robinson. Actor Chadwick Boseman plays the athlete who broke MLB’s color line by joining the Dodgers in 1947, and Harrison Ford stars as Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey. The movie, which has been filming in Birmingham, Chattanooga and Macon, is wrapping up with some final background scenes in Atlanta this week

I’m sorry, but Peach Pundit is better than this. This reads like a Fox News headline. It’s really not that big of a deal for a President to visit a movie set.
The first black President visits the set of a movie about the first black man in baseball. Yes. That’s quite shocking.
Come on, this guy has more leisure time as President than anyone this side of France.
Two replies to this: you want your doctor, or an airplane pilot, or any other professional with a stressful job to work full time and never take a break?
Second reply: Which President took month long summer vacations on his ranch?
Well at this point, combining the total time spent by the President, he’s played golf almost three months of his entire presidency so far.
“Come on, this guy has more leisure time as President than anyone this side of France.”
And with the unsatisfactory state of the economy, it shows.
Lazy, Buzz. Lazy.
LOL. I’m not the one playing all that golf, basketball, etc. and taking all those vacations.
If only he chopped wood, it’d be alllllllllllll different.
Hey, he was keeping alive the American pastime known as “clearing brush.”
Now watch this drive.
Buzz, how’s your dressage coming?
Will this qualify as the ‘official business’ they need to charge the taxpayers for this latest fundraising trip? Like all the others…
Would anyone disagree that the primary goal of a politician is fundraising? If not, then I submit this is not news, but rather evidence Obama is doing his job.
Seriously, Buzz? PP usually has relatively interesting content, but this is just lazy as all get out. Did you know that even the President has (and should have) at least some leisure time? And heck, he’s going to be in Atlanta already, so why wouldn’t he (and why shouldn’t he) visit a movie set about a groundbreaking MLB player?
Chris (above) says it pretty damn well, but I’ll say it again. You’re holding Obama to a double standard. Bush took huge vacations, frankly longer than those Obama has taken.
Seriously, man. Hold yourself to a higher standard.
Let’s hope Obama never quits his vacation. He certainly doesn’t accomplish anything positive for himself or the country when he’s “working”.
“Bush took huge vacations, frankly longer than those Obama has taken.”

Obama’s $5.5 million East Coast swing

Your point, Harry?
And again, I wonder how much of this travel is being paid for by you and me, not the Obama campaign?
Considering how much the oil and gas industry spends on political activities, same question back at you, just substitute Obama’s name with Romney.
The real rub of this trip to pick up more money in Georgia is that the official invitation listed the states in which the campaign funds will be used — take a wild guess which state is NOT one of those states.
Why am I recalling 2004 and discussions about Bush playing golf? And why am I lol-ing that the roles are exactly reversed?
Also Buzz, I know you are “fundamentally outraged” but come on dude, do you want him doing this or governing?
