I have the good fortune of having a wise mother. Most people can usually pinpoint one or two things they’ve learned from their mother – nuggets of wisdom they keep with them daily. For me, it’s “Bridget, change one woman and you change generations.” This phrase has largely been the driving force of my volunteerism – Girl Scouts, Gamma Phi Beta, Mt Paran Middle Schoolers, SPSU.
Women effect change. And not “rah rah, burn your bras” – I’m talking Gird Your Mind. Educate Yourself. Then Pull Someone Up With You. Women are the passion of any movement and usher in positive change. I think Conservative women are right there. Right on the brink of something really great.
We need to organize. Preparation, like fire drills if you will, will be what allows us to stay calm and act quickly. Social media is currently the best platform to rally around a cause – tout suite. No, it’s not just “for the young’uns”. My 64yo mother has an iPhone, and we text as often as we talk. It’s an excellent way to relay information, and we need to embrace it. Open your mind and say “I want to understand how and why it works”; of course you can learn this – it’s a lot less painful than having a kid
That being said, I invite you to a Social Media Bootcamp for Conservatives…
If a message needs to get out quickly, do you know which social media app to use – and why? and how? and when?
This training will include an overview of the major social media networks, the strengths of each network and how to tie them together. How do you leverage each social media network to effect the most action in the shortest time frame possible?
We’ll also be covering Text Marketing, Basic Website Must-haves, and Rapid Response scenarios. If Situation A happens, what do you do? where do you post? how do you engage?
My mom will be shocked to hear that viral is now a good thing – ha. Hope you can join us.
