Allen West To Headline Campaign Rally For Lynn Westmoreland

Congressman Lynn Westmoreland will be hosting a campaign rally on Monday, June 25th.  The event will be held at the Newnan Coweta Airport from 5 to 6:30pm.

Headlining the event will be TEA Party favorite Allen West.  West currently represents the 22nd Congressional District of Florida.

The event is free to the public, but RSVP’s are requested to Brince Manning.  Email: Brince “at” LynnWestmoreland “dot” org

Westmoreland faces two primary challengers this cycle.  Chip Flanegan of Jonesboro and Kent Kingsley of Milner are both challenging Westmoreland from the right.  Which is pretty narrow acreage.  Congressman West will surely emphasize this point a week from Monday.

Why would Lynn even bother to acknowledge these primary challengers? They have no shot. He could sit on his back porch and shoot squirrels until July 31 and still win hands down.

“…challenging Westmoreland from the right.” ROTFLMAO.

Oh, good catch. If he didn’t have ‘opposition’ then there would be no reason for folks to donate to their defeat.

I wonder if pols ever put someone up to run against them just for this reason?

From the “About Chip” section of Flanagan’s campaign website:

“Chip grew up in a military family and lived in Asia and several other states before coming to Georgia in 1971 with his family.”

Umm.. Chip, Asia is not a state. And, while we’re at it, Jonesboro ain’t in the 3rd Congressional District.

A quick read of Kent’s website reveals that he is essentially Lynn Westmoreland, but with a military background a couple of college degrees (none of which Lynn has on his resume). He’s also apparently a little less grounded than Lynn because he presumably believes he has a shot of beating Lynn “from the right.”

I sometimes disagree with Lynn’s policy positions, but I especially appreciate his crusade against our scandalous farm subsidies. Sure, the Colbert Report gaffe and the “uppity” gaffe were pretty embarrassing, but Lynn has nearly Clintonesque charisma. No way he loses a primary in the 3rd.
