911 Call Of Erickson SWATting Released

On May 27th we told you about Erick Erickson and his family being “SWATted” where someone fakes a phone call to 911 reporting a serious crime. Law enforcement responds as they are trained to do, ready for a dangerous situation. Thankfully Erick and his family were not harmed.

This morning Erick posted the 911 call that prompted law enforcement to arrive guns drawn at his house. The person behind the fake call tells the 911 Operator that he’s killed his wife and intends to kill again.

Senator Chambliss has called on DOJ to look into swatting, hopefully before someone is killed. Over 80 of his House and Senate colleagues have joined his call.

Erick has more at RedState.

Swatting has been around for a couple of years now. In 2009 19 year old Matthew Weigman was sentenced to 11 years in Federal prison for a number of phone hacking crimes including…

a 2005 hostage hoax that sent police to the Colorado home of Richard Gasper, a TSA screener whose daughter refused phone sex with Weigman.

This is one of the most irresponsible and dangerous things I have ever heard of…..how deranged must some folks get…not only chilling for the family, but also for law enforcement who now must wonder is this a real or a prank call before they respond…….this stuff is dangerous enough without people playing games…..

The call reminded me of the time Homer Simpson was pretending to be Mr. Burns. “What’s your fitst name?” “I don’t know.”

These idiots need to be charge as if they tried to kill him, because that was clearly what they were attempting. “I am going to kill again.” was meant for one purpose and one purpose only, to create an atmosphere where Erick might have been shot.

I guess it is fortunate that these people are lacking in cognitive abilities, as witnessed by the phone call, otherwise they might be a more dangerous threat.
