John Francis Donoghue, Archbishop Emeritus of Atlanta died on Friday. He was 83.
Donoghue came to the diocese from Charlotte in 1993, taking over after the very short tenure of Archbishop Lyke. He shepherded the faithful at a time when the diocese was undergoing a radical growth and transformation.
His episcopal motto was “To live in Christ Jesus.”
Funeral arrangements are being made, according to media reports.
