Somebody’s Lying And It Ain’t Herman Cain

CBS46 talked to a private investigator who use some nifty software and said Herman Cain is not lying when he denies Sharon Bialek’s sexual harassment accusation.

There’s supposed to be a video embedded below. Not sure why it’s not working right now. Here’s a direct link to the video.

That’s part of the problem. Herman Cain is being convicted without going to court. No facts, evidence, witnesses, etc…, just a combination of anonymous and public women, from 15 years ago. No ability to formally cross-examine the accusers’ statements.

I honestly don’t know if Cain is guilty or innocent of the acts. He’s stated he’s innocent, assuming he’s innocent, what else can he do?

None of this would be acceptable in a proceeding designed to uncover facts. But in this alternative universe, statements from lawyers of faceless accusers and voice recognition lie detector tests seem to be perfectly reasonable pieces of evidence.

I carry the technology with me every day, attached to my head. It picks up BS real good.
    PS it’s called ears.

“Ward said nearly 70 law enforcement agencies nationwide use the ($15,000) voice software, including the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office”

So can they take it into a County meeting and if so, the results were ?

beyond technology, it does strike me as odd that a supposed habitual sex offender would confine his dubious acts to one small period of a 40 year career. where are all the women from his time with pillsbury or wsb750 (have you ever seen the sales chicks that work for a radio station)?

if we are to believe the gals who have come forward and those who lurk in the darkness of anonymity, this guy is a sex addict who cannot control himself. yet there is no evidence and no reports from any other job he has held in an otherwise exemplary career. it’s time for the gold diggers to be exposed along with any co-conspirators who might have coerced them into leading this baseless character assasination plot against herman cain.

      That’s just wrong.
It is easy to to imagine scenarios where someone would behave inappropriately and then stop.
To conclude that the women are lying because there isn’t a continuous trail of corroborating evidence is baseless.

bene, everything is circumstantial to this point. but it would be highly unusual for a sexual predator as described by the cain accusers to exhibit such traits for such a short period of his lifetime. if i was betting, i would put my money on herman cain being truthful over the accusers based on current available evidence.

I believe most of us past about 35 years old have known someone who rose to a position of authority or power and had a little trouble establishing behavioral boundaries at first. I don’t think it is unusual at all. Whether that is the case with Cain or not, I don’t know, but to dismiss the woman as a liar based on this assumption is just an opinion scrounging for justification.

          • Three Jack says:

bene, cain ‘rose to a position of authority’ while with pillsbury including ceo of godfathers pizza. so if he had problems ‘establishing behavorial boundaries’ due to his rise in power, logic dictates there should be some allegations from that timeframe prior to his joining the nra. thanks for making my point for me.

TJ, your are just imposing your own frame on these circumstances. Perhaps Pillsbury had a very structured culture (like IBM), perhaps his personal life was such that he wasn’t tempted by outside opportunities, perhaps the NRA gig had a wild-west type atmosphere (highly likely), perhaps he had a mid-life crisis.
On the other hand, maybe she is lying and he did nothing wrong. My point is, you can have your opinion about her, but trying to justify it with this reasoning is flawed. Just say you think she’s lying. You don’t even need a reason.

              • Three Jack says:

unlike you and the media, i at least review the evidence before forming an opinion. that’s the problem these days, too many like you who go by, ‘ready…..fire…..aim’.

I don’t know that any reasonable objective person unconnected to Cain or the alledged victims can definitively call Cain a habitual sex offender based on the current public evidence.

Actions that constitute sexual harrassment today were business as usual prior to the mid 80’s. The voice analysis may simply indicate that Cain doesn’t remember, or doesn’t in his heart believe that he sexually harrassed anybody, or some of both. His lack of memory and earnest belief with respect to what he does remember doesn’t mean that he didn’t.

And it’s all great entertainment, until as Charlie points out in his most recent column, we realize that true or false, real people (victims or Cain) are being damaged.

CBS46 has become a poor self-parody of itself in the past few years. We used to get, quality coverage in the days of Gene Norman. Now it’s all fluff. To report something like this that is patently false(and playing into the hands of the RNC/Tea Party, who are on the front likes for Herman “liar” Cain) blows my mind. 11Alive is the channel to be reckoned with.

And if you don’t believe these people, I can suspend a needle by thread and see which direction it circles when he talks (like my grandmother used to do to determine truth)……
