That’s the motto inscribed in the marble wall behind the Georgia Supreme Court bench.
More after the jump.
Matthew Cardinale, pro se litigant, arguing against secret votes by the Atlanta City Council. This is the most important case before the Supreme Court for transparency in state government. Why the media isn’t covering it, I don’t know.

Let justice be done, though the heavens fall.
Cutlery and scales? A woman who can fix my dinner blindfolded?

Never ever put quotes in your post titles… Wreaks havoc with everything. Not even TinyURL can fix it.
I so move that we dispense with real Latin and use only igpay atinlay henceforth.

Why? I’ll tell you why.
Because it is Matthew Cardinale. “The Gadfly” no one takes serious. The “progressive” voice in Atlanta. The one that has continually beat CoxCo™ at its own business: “reporting local news”. The guy that broke the Atlanta Eagle Story.
And, ironically, he is also the guy standing there in a suit (he is not a suit guy), probably scared ‘shi*less’ standing up for the rights of gays, straights, conservatives, liberals, and every other citizen in Georgia against ‘big government’ holding secret meetings and having secret votes. On his own nickle.
He shows the ‘local media’ for what they are: empty suits with empty minds and no appetite for ‘digging’ for the news.
These are the type people who wind up mayor in 10 years (Google Laura Miller, Dallas Mayor). Remember his name. He is fighting for your freedom, dudes.

“Why the media isn’t covering it, I don’t know.”
A lack of reporters will impact your coverage.
If I were Tammy Adkins, I’d run on a platform of redecorating the courtroom. I’d go with a darker wood on the walls to complement the marble, move the portraits to a vestibule, and get rid of the fluorescent lights.
The Media no longer reports on ‘news’ or items that require fact checking or, god forbid, a reporter actually having to read a legal brief or legislative bill before talking about it.
No. Far easier to play sound bites of candidates spewing nothing, then report on how this remark gained or lost points for the candidate’s team. Never mind delving into whether or not it is true, or relevant. Mindless. Journalism is dead.
“items that require fact checking”
You should probably talk to the next mayor of Atlanta about that one.
He’ll be the next Bill Campbell before it’s all over.
