Secretary of State Brian Kemp has sent word that the date for the Presidential Preference Primary in Georgia will be announced at 11am tomorrow morning. The Georgia Legislature gave Kemp that authority with special legislation last year, allowing flexibility for the SOS to position Georgia on the Presidential Primary calendar where the state can have the greatest impact, and thus, greatest attention paid by candidates.
News this morning is that Florida may move its primary into January. We’ll see how or if that factors into Kemp’s decision in less than 24 hours.
And before the TEA Party activists/T-SPLOST opponents get all riled up, this is the Presidential Preference Primary, not the General Primary, which are held on different dates. This move in no way affects your T-SPLOST vote.
