The white male English bulldog, who took over as Georgia’s mascot before last season’s homecoming game against Vanderbilt, was diagnosed with lymphoma early last month.
“We all mourn the loss of Uga VIII, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Seiler family at this time,” Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said.
Let’s hope a new UGA can be chosen quickly, as I don’t think our football program can survive Russ’ record much longer.
Meanwhile, as I’ve been out of town and mainlining Nyquil, two of our front page posters have written posts which require violent disagreement. But, it is Friday, and these matters can wait. I’ve posted my column for today below, and I’ll leave you all to your weekends while I hopefully finish off this cold and my supply of meds.

Seiler seems to have run in to the same problem as Richt lately.
Can get the new talent in, can’t coach ‘em up to get anything out of them once they’re there.
“…violent disagreement” hopefully is a metaphor for a sharp pencil coming…..these are trying times…..
Poor little misshapen beasties are dropping almost as fast a Georgia banks.
Inbreeding doesn’t work out for dogs or banks
This wasn’t a congenital defect caused by poor genes. The poor dog had cancer.
According to WebMD Pet Health, some breeds seem to inherit more cancer-producing genes.
And in bankers it is a virus first noticed in the Okeefenokee Swamp, termed “Me First” , now known as “Goldmansachitis” and airborne transmitted in financial circles….
UGA VIII didn’t die from cancer, he died from embarrassment!

Since this is an open thread, did any of you see British PM Cameron saying that tolerance for radical Islam should be lessened? Finally!!! It’s about damn time someone grew some balls and called out these animals. Only Australia and England are saying what we all feel.
Had to check that one out – yep –
Perhaps most controversially, he [ PM Cameron] called for an end to a double standard that he said had tolerated the propagation of radical views among nonwhite groups that would be suppressed if they involved radical groups among whites.
