Half A Dozen Run For Gwinnett Chair.

The Qualifying period to run in the March special election for Gwinnett County Commission Chairman has ended and six brave souls have filed their paperwork:

Robert Clark (former Lawrenceville Councilman)
Will Costa (former Libertarian candidate for Labor Commissioner)
Larry Gause (former candidate for 4th Congressional District)
Duane (maybe Gerald?) Kissel (former Gwinnett Assistant Police Chief)
Charlotte Nash (former County Administrator)
Timothy Swiney (former candidate for State House)

Let the games begin.

Looks like a pretty weak field.

How many of these guys are going to raise real money? Or are we going to see a lot of stealth campaigns?

  2. How many of the candidates are Republicans? Nothing quite like having a single party run everything. Come to think of it, it worked out great for the USSR and Pre-WWII Germany.

It’s Gwinnett. If they’re not a Republican already, they will be by the time they’re sworn-in.

My voting methodology will basically be to hang back, wait to see which candidate upsets land developers the most, and then support that candidate.

No brainer here. Charlotte Nash is the pick. Experience, knowledge, complete understanding of the administration of Gwinnett government and honest and ethical. She’s my pick, and should be everyone’s.

Well if you want effective management of the same old same old…. I might not be your man but if you to see Gwinnett get back to honest government where the common citizen feels they have some “skin in the game” Costa is the only name you need to know.

Steve I have seen how out of control development has destroyed many metro Atlanta Counties and Cities. When it comes to zoning and development I will go all out to end the common practice of the county commission ……using unincorporated areas of Gwinnett as the dumping ground for apartments and empty shopping centers.
