The Deal/Huckabee Rally.

I arrived a little late so here’s the AJC’s report on Mike Huckabee’s appearance with Nathan Deal at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.

Huckabee, who won Georgia’s 2008 Republican presidential primary, said Deal will balance the state’s budget without raising taxes.

“He uniquely understands that when you are in a hole, the first thing you do is stop digging,” Huckabee said to a crowd of about 150 outside the 57th Fighter Wing Restaurant near Peachtree-DeKalb Airport.

Huckabee also blasted Deal’s Democratic opponent, former Gov. Roy Barnes, for what Huckabee called “desperate and despicable” attacks on Deal.

“When you’re getting kicked in the behind, it proves you’re still out front,” Huckabee said.

Barnes’ campaign declined to respond to Huckabee. But Barnes on Thursday pointed to a new round of attack ads that Deal and the Republican Governors Association launched as proof that Deal has not avoided a rough-and-tumble campaign.

i love the soundbites that have absolutely no validity. if anybody is uniquely qualified to keep digging, it is nathan deal….hell, he will get a bigger shovel if necessary.

If deal is so financially savvy, how did his finances get so out of control?

Political talk is so meaningless. Huchabee said we need Deal because he would cut state spending and avoid deficit spending. Everyone on this list knows that WHOEVER the next governor is, he will balance the state budget because, well, the state constitution mandidates it! Given the way our leadaers are chosen, I’m not sure ours is really thet superior to the Chinese system.

Our system is pretty crazy, but Erick Erickson is not in jail, Buzz is on his way to purgatory — the dome — and no one commenting here is being investigated for what they’ve written.

Can’t say the same for China.
